This weekend have been an exciting one for our Academy CS:GO-team. They spent it in Halmstad, at a LAN event called Halmstad Arena LAN. They were there to participate in Gunnar Open, a CS:GO tournament.
In the group stage, Keita Academy won three out of three matches, one of which were against their soon-to-be nemesis, 6 Feet Under. In the playoffs they won their first game but lost the upper bracket finals to 6 Feet Under. They got back in the loser bracket and advanced to the grand finals where they of course faced none other than... 6 Feet Under! This time they were at a one map disatvantage due to coming from the loser bracket and didn't manage to get their revenge, instead leaving the tournament at second place.
We at Keita are glad to have the Academy Team "out in the open" and we are looking forward to their future progressions! The team themselves are as excited as we are. Lucas "Wassberg" Wassberg tells us that "We are very happy that we managed to take the 2nd place in the tournament with this being our first LAN event and our short playtime together in the team. We're also happy that we got this chance and we will keep working hard to become better. In the future, we will try to attend more LAN tournaments and aim for the 1st place."
